While you sleep, your skin switches into repair mode. Your evening routine should remove the day's build-up and give the skin what it needs to recover.
Double Cleanse If You Wear Make-Up or SPF
Start with an oil-based cleanser or balm to dissolve make-up, sunscreen and sebum, then follow with your regular gentle cleanser. This ensures actives applied afterwards can actually reach the skin.
Use Active Ingredients Wisely
Evening is the best time for retinoids and exfoliating acids, as many actives make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Introduce them gradually — two to three nights a week at first — and never layer multiple strong actives without professional advice.
Lock In Moisture
Finish with a nourishing moisturiser. If your skin is dry or you use retinoids, look for ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to support the skin barrier overnight.
